Meet Eniola a mass communicator turned Fashion Designer

Image
Let's say "Hello" to our new discovery!  A graduate of mass communication turned fashion designer. A wife and a mother. I stumbled on her Instagram handle @neeolarneedles and fell in love with every single pieces she put together, maybe I loved how she rocked them (lol) but trust me, you'll love designs and want to wear them.      These a few of the designs I fell in love with.        One would say the colour combination of the two different Ankara pieces does not match perfectly, but what is more perfect than crowning it all up with a yellow hair band. There are three (3)things to crush on in this look. 1. The Hair band                   2. The shoes                   3. The Top    Look this way to work on a Friday and get a promotion (lol).  Oh! I love everything about this outfit. This is two pieces of an awesome weekend v...

My Heritage!!! EDO,  is what you can describe as the "generic name given to a group of people who have a common ancestor and have a common language, with some different variants, depending on the distance between the group and the " tap root, " resident in and around the present day Benin City.  I have kissed my mother's tongue into mine, her language at when she scolds and at when she pets me.In short, the guide to love and cherish my heritage which I was thought would be passed on to more of my likes. I love my heritage.

Blue!!     Ok so blue is something! Especially to distinguish it from any other thing differing in colour, some might say "blue is royalty" but I say "blue on light skin,is a goal"     It's really beautiful to have a younger version of yourself, like looking at your daughter and saying "this was me". Lol!

The colours! The smile!     This goes from a hot chocolate skinned Mommy to a creamy light skinned daughter, the bond blend is so beautifully exceptional and makes me want to cry!    If choices were to be made on what skin colour I should be created in,I'll go for black all the way! Because Black don't crack!

Listening to myths can be very harmful.

"Before you put that oil in that soft spot on the head of your newborn"....Please read what is "Okà orì" by Dr. Sururah OKA ORI (BABY'S SOFT SPOT)     I was a fresh medical graduate when one of my aunt told me about her neighbour’s new born child that died of what Yoruba call ‘oka ori’, someone told me it is called "ndawa isi" in Ibo. Someone should tell me the Hausa name. She thereafter asked me what ‘oka ori’ means in medical terms (being a doctor now).  Although as naïve as I was then with no practical experience, I ensured I was professional about my answer, I never heard of it before but I knew it sounded like one of those shared myths…     Since I started practicing, I came across few mothers that don’t bother asking for the meaning of ‘oka ori’, they have been handed the standard diagnosis of "Oka" by the grannies or neighbours stat. Their own question is whether they should give "agbo oka" that is native concoction or...
